"Shrek and Donkey helped me up."

By now, everyone has heard that Bret Michaels (of Poison fame) was injured during the opening number of the Tony awards. Apparently, he fractured his nose and had to have stitches for a busted lip. When I came into work this morning and went to people.com for the latest news (as I do every morning), the lead headline was "Shrek and Donkey helped me up." It's not every day you see a headline like that and kudos to the reporter who decided to make that the headline. It certainly grabbed my attention and compelled me to read the story. The Shrek and Donkey referred to are the actors playing the role on Broadway in "Shrek the Musical." For some reason, the whole experience has made me like Bret Michaels a bit more than I did before.

If this was the most exciting thing that happened to me today, clearly it was not a very eventful day. I did, however, get to talk to my "work crush" on the phone today. Good stuff.

In other news about Ned and the kids--

In doing Samantha's laundry from her trip to Florida with just her Daddy, I discovered two pieces of underwear that aren't Samantha's. How hard is it to keep up with your kid's clothes on a 3-4 day trip???

Jack is much faster than I thought. Last night I went to open the garage door for the golf cart and I slammed it right into Jack's head. He must have been right on my heels the whole time. I had no idea he was that fast. He got a pretty nasty knot on his head. Samantha told me on more than one occasion, "Mom, you should have looked to see where he was." Thanks, Bear.

Back to the salt mines.

Love,

Allie
