Diet Dr. Peppers-->6
Weight -- none of your business
Dear Diary-
Who says you can't do it all -- have a career, be a good mom, and be a good homemaker? Today I believe that I have proven that you can, in fact, do it all.
First, finished a very important and difficult project at work. Am quite pleased with the product. Maybe am something of a legal genius after all?
Second, made homemade valentines with Samantha this evening. Who knew? Crafty and a wonderful hands-on mom.
Third, clipped coupons; organized desk; fed daughter three meals, and cleaned kitchen. Homemaker extraordinaire!
Wait a minute.
Important and difficult work project probably should have been completed weeks ago. Maybe am no legal genius but instead slow legal dunce?
Only had to make homemade valentines because the selection at Kroger's on a Thursday night at 9pm (when I was there with my 5-year-old) was sketchy at best. Good mom would have already purchased her daughter's valentines while selection was plentiful. Also sent infant son to Mom's house so that I could complete work project given likely preschool closure. Maybe am bad mom after all?
As I was placing freshly clipped coupons in my coupon organizer, I noticed that I was throwing away numerous expired coupons. Must not be keeping up with them and using them in proper fashion. Do sometimes (most of the time) forget to take coupons with me to store. Much like I forget reusable shopping bags at least 5o percent of the time. As for desk, should probably have kept it organized everyday so that it did not turn into a multiple hour project. As for daughter's three square meals--frozen waffle and strawberries, leftover pasta, and a kids cuisine may not count as gourmet (or nutritious cooking).
Oh no, am total failure as a homemaker in addition to being enemy of the environment.
Love,
Allie
p.s. Sorry for the Bridget Jones flavor of the post. It just came out of me that way.
