Vultures

You know how we have cute (or at least we think they are cute) nicknames for the kids like Bear, Jack Rabbit, Corduroy, etc.? We now have a new one for both of them -- the Vultures. You cannot pick up a fork to put a bite of food in your mouth without one or both of them rushing over to you and begging for a bite. Mind you this is after they have already eaten. And they don't discriminate about who they hit up for food. They'll rush over to anybody if they see them eating. With their mouths hanging open and jumping up and down. I am not exaggerating. Ask anyone who has been around the kids and food at the same time.

We live where there are a lot of deer. Because of this, it's a fairly common occurrence to see dead deer laying on or beside the road with vultures swooping over the carcasses. Bear has observed the vultures on numerous occasions and termed their behavior disgusting and gross. However, it hasn't deterred her own vulturesque behavior and she hasn't really seemed to mind when we call her a vulture. Guess I need to think of a new plan.

Love,
Allie
