Ain't no stopping Jack now . . .

He's on the move. Bless his little heart, he is trying so hard to move. I wouldn't exactly call it crawling; it's more of a slithering - - like a snake. Problem is he can only go in reverse. Check it out:

As you can see, Samantha can't stand back to let Jack be front and center.

Jack is still under the weather. They wrote on his sheet at daycare that he was cranky and didn't act like himself. I would love to take him to the doctor but there's nothing they can do for him. When they took his temperature at daycare today it was only 99 degrees. I wanted to make sure he ate more than last night so I stopped and bought him a Wendy's Frosty on the way home. I figured if his throat was bothering him the cold ice cream might feel good. He did eat some of the Frosty and some soup. Please feel better Jack. Mommy needs some uninterrupted sleep.

Speaking of uninterrupted sleep-- I'm guessing that Ned will be home from Florida around 8pm on Saturday night. Would I be a bad mother if I gave him a hug (or a dirty look depending on how angry I still am about Jack's baby pics and the US Cellular debacle) and then locked myself in the guest room with a good book and told him it was his responsibility to take care of the kids until the next morning? I am strongly considering this.

I took Ned's car to the shop to see about his tire. They said there was a screw in the tire and it couldn't be repaired. They would have to order the new tire and it would take a day or so to arrive. I told them Ned would take care of it when he got home.

While I was taking care of this, Ned was spending the afternoon in South Beach.

As I waited on the tire diagnosis, I read an OK magazine. It had an article about Alanis Morissette losing 20 pounds. Alanis said that before losing the weight she didn't even want to get out of bed in the morning and she figured that was part of being in her 30's. But, according to Alanis, dropping 20 pounds makes her jump out of bed in the morning and gives her boundless energy. Really Alanis??? 20 pounds makes that much of a difference? Or is it the weight loss combined with NO sugar, NO processed food, etc.? I might try this Alanis Morissette diet but only if someone can confirm that Taco Bell is NOT processed food. Speaking of Alanis Morissette, did you know that in her song "Hands Clean" the older man who commits statutory rape (she uses much gentler language but that's what it is) is allegedly 29 and Alanis is 14. Sordid subject; good song though.

I got my Law and Order fix tonight. New episode. Very good. I've got a crush on ADA Cutter. (Can you have a crush if you're 40 years old?).

Love,

Allie
