One of the things that every parent wants is to have her children like each other and get along, right? Bear told me tonight that when she grows up she wants to marry Jack. It's not the first time she's said it. I tried to explain to her that she couldn't marry Jack that she had to marry someone who isn't a relative. Lest anyone stumble upon this post who doesn't know us and think this is some kind of messed up VC Andrews Flowers in the Attic/ Petals on the Wind saga, remember Bear is only 4-years-old and Jack is 8 months. Anyway, I suggested she marry Garrett (from her preschool class and the recipient of 6 timeouts today) or somebody else but ONLY after she turns 30, graduates from medical school, and sees to it that her mommy is taken care of in luxurious fashion.
Ned made it to Fort Lauderdale after more than 14 hours on a bus with more than 50 college kids. I would have blown my brains out.
Jack is and has been eating some table food. So far, he has liked just about everything we have given him. Especially mashed potatoes.
The kids and I had a nice low-key evening. Baths right after dinner (hamburgers and not crunchy tacos) and some books and playtime. Bear, of course, capped her evening off with a screening of HSM. I, on the other hand, treated myself to a new original episode of Law and Order.
Status of New Year's Resolutions: too dismal to discuss.
Love,
Allie
