I'm behind on the blog. Who would have thought could happen? Just kidding. Anyway, let's catch up on a few things.
First, we took Jack to the pediatrician on Thursday. You knew that I picked him up from school last Wednesday because he had a fever. Well, Wednesday night was a nightmare. He would only sleep if he was in my arms. Jack still wouldn't take Tylenol. Plus, his temperature was all over the place. Not sure if this was because of our miserable abilities in taking a 7-month old's temperature or if he had a fever that was off and on. Of course once he was at the pediatrician's office first thing Thursday morning, no fever at all. I figure Jack's doctor thinks we (specifically me) are the most paranoid parents ever but at least he doesn't let it show if he does think that. The final diagnosis: bad cold.
We spent the weekend in Northern Virginia. Ned was recruiting at a swim meet and we wanted to get some Christmas shopping done so the whole family accompanied him. We stayed at a great hotel in a great location. We actually stayed there when we were doing in vitro during summer of 2007. Jack and Bear were able to go swimming. We didn't get much shopping done but we did get to see several of our very good friends that we hadn't seen in quite some time. One day we had lunch with our friends Graham and Ken and the next day we did brunch with the Schneiders. It really was great to spend time with both sets of friends. Wish I had pics to post but, you know me, I never have the camera when I need it.
While Ned was gone the kids and I had some quality bonding time. In particular, Bear and I watched High School Musical I and II on Saturday night. She loves dancing around to the musical numbers. I actually kind of think they are catchy myself . . . .
We're all in this together
When we reach
We can fly
Know inside
We can make it
We're all in this together
Once we see
There's a chance
That we have
And we take it
Wild cats everywhere
Wave your hands up in the air
That's the way we do it
Let's get to it.
Good stuff.
In other good news, the Hokies won the ACC championship game. Of course, I didn't watch it. However, Ned insisted that we have lunch with Graham and Ken at a venue with a TV. This meant no Olive Garden (which is where Graham and I thought we were going) and, instead, a place called Smokey Bones which had three televisions. Whatever it takes to make Ned happy.
Love,
Allie
