This morning was Bear's program at the church where she and Jack go to daycare. It was called the "Hanging of the Greens" and the preschoolers were dressed as little angels and they sang some songs. It was a nice service and Bear did a pretty good job. In her critique on the way home, her dad told her that she seemed to have a good handle on the 1st, 3rd, and 4th songs but she was weak on the 2nd one. I told her that she should have practiced a little more. In her defense, she's been out of school since Wednesday morning so she didn't get any last minute practice. She certainly looked cute. Sullen, but cute.

Jack looks like a throwback to the pop music stars of the 80s. Vest, shirt unbuttoned at the top, loose tie. Rick Springfield perhaps?

The most traumatic part of the morning was getting to the service on time. Bear was supposed to be there at 10:45 a.m. or so we thought. When we showed up 5 minutes late, I noticed a sign that said the kids were supposed to have been there at 10:30 a.m. Guess Ned and I missed that one. Of course we forgot our camera.
The rest of the day seemed to go a lot more smoothly. Basically, we spent a low-key afternoon and evening decorating for Christmas. This is a pretty big year for us because we are putting up FOUR Christmas trees. Usually, we only do three: one in the reflection room, one in the sunroom, and one in the basement. This year we are also doing one in Bear's room. So far we have completed the one in the reflection room and the sunroom should be complete by tomorrow evening. As you can see, Jack helped.

Ned had swim practice this afternoon from 4pm until 6pm. I tried to get Jack to take a nap and had no success. He did chill with me and Bear as we watched "Little Bear" on Noggin. I'm telling you that "Little Bear" is good stuff. It is soooo mellow. I liken watching it to being hooked up to an IV of valium or watching Bob Ross painting. Seriously. Before Ned and I had kids, we would sometimes find ourselves watching episode after episode of Bob Ross' painting show on PBS. You could just feel the stress evaporate while you watch him paint. If you don't know who Bob Ross is, he's that white guy with the afro who does those oil paintings of landscapes. He's dead but you can still find his shows sometimes. Here's some info on him:
Check him out sometime.
Anyway, I digress. The point I was making was that we spent a laid back Sunday with the kids. Honestly, we need more of those.
Love,
Allie
