Let's just say Bear and I have logged some Noggin this week. If you are unfamiliar with Noggin, it's a channel that dubs itself a "preschool for kids." Every show begins with a little blurb about the skills that your child will learn by watching it. This blurb, of course, is for parents so they don't feel so guilty about letting their kids watch tv. Here's how it goes in my head--"Oh, they say this show enhances preschoolers' problem solving and cognitive reasoning abilities. This stuff is good for Bear. Far better than me letting her watch a bunch of smart-mouthed cartoon kids like Rugrats."

Noggin is hosted by a moose called Moose A. Moose and a little bird named Zee. The above song is one of their greatest hits. The problem is that once you hear this song, it sticks in your head. Oddly enough, my friend Christa was just here and she mentioned how much this song stays with you. This is for you Christa--

Next week I am going to limit the amount of TV Bear watches. When I told her this, she asked if that included the number of times she could watch High School Musical.

Oh, and in case you're wondering, Bear's favorite shows on Noggin are "Max and Ruby" and "Little Bear." My favorites are "Little Bear" and "Toot and Puddle." I am pretty excited though because they have added "Olivia" to their lineup. It's a new show based on the popular books by Ian Falconer.

Jack is still with my parents enjoying his vacation. For him, it has to be like staying at an all-inclusive resort. Constant attention and attempts to entertain him; all the food and drink he could ask for; and anything that involves spoiling him rotten. For example, I know he's had more than his share of ice cream sandwiches while he's been there.

As for his illness, you would never know he was sick. Ned insists that both of the kids probably didn't even have strep. I keep telling him that of course they had strep-- the test came back positive. We just caught it early. I've said this to him no less than 5 times.

On a final note, the women H2Okies are doing well at the ACC meet. Go Hokies!

Love,
Allie
